Today we had our second meeting for the Go Green Club. We had planned to work in the Butterfly Garden, but due to weather conditions we ended working on other actions items on our agenda such as: 1. Creating our recycling schedule. 2. Arranging Bins in different areas of the school for recycling (including the cafeteria). 3. Capri Sun Fundraiser.

Prior to working on this we were able to see a Power Point presentation about butterflies made by one of our club members Ethan Kettlewell. After that we went to the L’atelier where we discussed the actions items above mentioned. Nina was our photographer of the day. Laura, Augusto, Ethan, Anna Catalina, were diligently working on tearing up recycle newspaper to create craft paper a very hands on project literally. It is a process that takes several days and we are looking forward to see the end result of it.  Once we get to the end of it we would post the process in case you would like to do it at home. Ethan and Geronimo were researching on different web sites to create our club flag. Geronimo came up with the idea and invited Ethan to collaborate on it since he seems to know a lot of fun facts about butterflies. Looking forward to see the end result of it. Anna Catalina created a beautiful picture of a butterfly and finally we were able to observe our two caterpillars and one chrysalis. We noticed one of our Monarch caterpillars had a darker color compare to the other one. We hope this doesn’t mean that it is in danger. We will keep you posted. We also saw two very tiny snails in the host plant. Enjoy the pictures and we are looking forward to hear your comments.
